What is the most popular real-time stock quote service?

I know that most brokers provide free quotes, but I’m looking for real-time stock quotes that aren’t connected to a broker. If there is a free service, great; but if not, what is the most popular pay service.

The MSN Money realtime quotes are limited to 50 per day so that won’t work for me. I know that Yahoo has a pay service. Do many people use that? Does Google offer free or pay quotes?

I subscribe to Yahoo’s real time service. When I’m signed in and looking at charts, the fluctuations are showing in red and green highlights in real-time. I recommend it. The cost is $13.95/month. Then you can launch their web-based stock screener and watch your portfolio in real-time as well. Its more customizable than anything Scottrade has and gives more financial info about a stocks performance/ technicals/ fundamentals.

I also use Scottrade to buy and sell. But I find that Yahoo’s finance pages show a lot more info than scottrade, so I don’t mind paying the fee.

You can open an account with Scottrade just for the free real-time quotes, but never trade with them. The $500 minimum only applies if you plan to trade through them. So, yes, Scottrade offers FREE real-time quotes.

I didn’t even know that any stocks were updated real time, I thought the fastest they could be updated every five minutes.

But just given the popularity of the site, I would go for Yahoo. They let me put all my tickers into widgets that I can display in a web document of my own creation.

watch CNBC they have a stock-quote scroller at the bottom of the screen, and often show the charts for some companies, and the quotes are updated everytime they are shown(Like every 3 mins.) check on their website (www.cnbc.com) to see if your company is shown on the scroller.
You can also use CNBC’s (or marketwatch.com’s) online scroller, free. And if you get an iGoogle (just get a Gmail account) you can add and publically traded company to your portfolio.
or, tell me what company your’ve invested in, and I’ll work somthing out for you.

(buy symbol PHO its good, along with SafeWay,Inc(SWY) and also try AT&T (T) if you want good dividends, though you kinda missed the iPhone boat. But i caught it!)
