Read as much as you can about the field… Try to figure out what part of investment banking you would like to go into. Interviewers like to see passion in the applicant.

There are many parts to an I-bank. Trading, research, analysts, M&A, IPOs, etc.. Figure out which one best fits your talents and your interest.

Lots of advice on the web. Google “Mergers and Inquisitions.” You don’t have to be a finance major to get into IB but you do need to be very interested in the field.

Subscribe to some magazines and newspapers. I read the Australian Financial Review and The Economist. Subscriptions are pricey but think of it as an investment. Also look out for student discounts.
