What type of experience should I get in order to be an investment banker?

also is there alot of opportunities or atleast an okay amount of opportunities to be an investment banker and make good money? what type of jobs should i seek in order to be an investment banker?

In most cases, you will need to obtain undergraduate degree, helps to have a concentration in Finance. The term "investment banker" is not as typical of a job title as it was in 2000. Nowadays, you see more financial advisors, counselors, etc. But check out monster.com to see if any are available in your area. Once hired, you will be sponsored by that company to take several NASD exams (series 7, series 66, etc). To make good money, you will have to be good at what you do and grow a large client base (which to some come easy, but to most this is very difficult).

You should also check out some investment firms websites like Goldman Sachs, Creit Suisse First Boston, Morgan Stanley. All of these have very well training programs that you can read about. They are mostly located in larger cities (NYC, LA, etc)

Hope this helps. Just keep reading about different positions. Do some google on the job titles that you come across in your search so that you can have a better understanding of what they consist of.

Good Luck!
